Birthday wishes

I cannot believe that four years ago today this little tiny baby was placed in my arms for the first time. She made two long years of wishing and hoping and heartache disappear and made me someone's mother.

She continues to fill our lives with laughter and love and lots of hugs and kisses. She's grown from a dependent little baby to our big girl getting ready to take on the challenges that the world has to offer.

In the past four years she's become a big sister, performed in her very first dance recital and learned how to ride a bike (with training wheels). She's taught me what it means to let someone else walk around with your heart. She's taught me how to let go and trust her instincts. She's given me a heart attack when she received her first stitches at the age of 19 months.
She greets me every morning by jumping into my bed and telling me that she "had a good sleep" and that she loves me and gives me hugs and kisses. She's learning how to read and can work her way around a computer. She loves teaching her baby sister how to do all kinds of stuff like go down slides and drink from a cup without a lid and how to go potty like the big kids do.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY my sweet baby girl! I love you so much and am enjoying this crazy ride we're on together. I hope that when you grow up you have a daughter who is just as wonderful as you are.

Beautiful post! My first born turns 7 on Saturday and I'm in shock. I remember so vividly bringing her home as a newborn. Time really does go so fast, doesn't it??
