Groundhog Day

Some days I feel like my day is on a constantly looping tape. Clean up after kids, pick up toys, go in the other room to do the dishes, come back out to the family room, clean up after the kids....over and over again.

Today I vacumned (how the heck do you spell that word!) the house. I just finished up cleaning upstairs and putting the vacumn away when the kids appear from out of nowhere with a bowl filled with Cheese Its and Blueberry Muffin Frosted Mini Wheats (the best cereal!). Of course where does it end up....all over the freakin' carpet I just vacummed!

If it's not the kids it's the dog or the cats. After the kids go to bed the Hubs and I quickly clean up any stray toys that the kids didn't get and settle down to watch tv (go on the computer). As soon as my butt hits the couch...wait...what's that I hear? Oh, just the stupid cat puking up all the food she just ate.

Whoever says that it's easy being home with the kids has never had to stay home with them. It's like that old saying, "Cleaning up with kids is like shoveling snow during a snowstorm." Or however it goes.

What's that I hear? Oh, just an entire box of Cheerios dumped on the floor I just mopped.

Life doesn't suck as much as I thought Thursday

Since becoming a SAHM I've had a hard time adjusting to the lack of income, grown up time and the ability just to do some things by myself. I used to be able to go to the mall and buy whatever caught my eye. I used to be able to buy a new car every two years. I used to be able to buy department store makeup and not blink an eye at dropping $100+ for a cut and color.

Now, I color my hair at home, rarely buy new clothes for myself and makeup comes from CVS (love my ECB's!). But what I've lost in material things I've gained in happiness.

I have the opportunity to stay at home with my favorite girls and enjoy special moments with them. I have the opportunity to go back to school to complete my degree in education. I've even still gotten a new car. I have a nice house in a nice neighborhood with nice neighbors. Nice huh? I have friends who care, inlaws that help us when we need it and the most awesome parents a girl could ask for. I have a close relationship with my brothers and my sister and their kids. I have a husband who works his butt off at an ungrateful job so that his wife can stay home with the kids and go to school.

I guess when I really think about it, life doesn't suck after all!

Christmas in July Virtual Cookie Exchange

LifeAsMom is hosting a Christmas in July Christmas cookie virtual exchange. I love Christmas and cookies so here is one of my family's favorite recipes. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Oreo Balls

1 pkg Oreo cookies or Nutter Butters for variety, crushed
8oz cream cheese
4 cups chocolate chips
1 Tbls shortening

Mix cookies and cream cheese in mixer. Form into balls and chill for 30 minutes. Melt chocolate chips and shortening and dip cookie balls into it. Place on tray in refrigerator until firm and enjoy!

Things I Love Thursday-Fisher Price Smart Cycle

Being a mom to a preschooler and a toddler, it can be difficult to find a few minutes just to do the dishes or fold a load of laundry without a fight breaking out over who touched who or who looked at who.

Well, I've found a solution that has been a lifesaver for me, especially when I'm trying to talk on the phone. Curly Girl received the Fisher Price Smart Cycle from her aunt and uncle for last Christmas. She loves to play the video games and I love that she's getting a little bit of physical activity and actually learning something too.

Munchkin loves to sit and watch her big sister riding the bike and will even climb on herself at times.

I love that I can get a few moments of peace and they love playing with their video game.

Can you feel the love?

For more things to love, visit the Diaper Diaries every Thursday!

Annndddd......Heeeere We Go!

Well, I've decided to enter BlogLand since it seems that everyone else is having so much fun! Please be gentle with me!

A little about me:

1. I've been married to my husband for almost 7 years
2. We have 2 beautiful little girls, Curly Girl (almost 4) and Munchkin (21 months)
3. We have 4 cats and a pit bull who thinks he's a cat
4. I've always battled with my weight and have lost a lot of weight twice in my life. I hope to make this my final attempt at it.
5. I love to read, decorate my home, spend time with my kids teaching them to respect animals and each other and to generally enjoy life to it's fullest.
6. I'm also going to school so that I can finish my degree in education and become an elementary school teacher.

Well, that's a bit about me and my crazy life! Thanks for coming along for the ride! Hold on tight, it gets bumpy sometimes!
