Checking off that summer list

 Making fruit smoothie ice pops...

...loaded with strawberries, blueberries, vanilla yogurt and ground flax seed. Yummy!

Cuddling with one of our fuzzy buddies on the couch...
...trying to figure out how to get the hamster out of the ball...

...a little playdough on the porch...
...with a lot of bed head going on...

...pets are never far away from these girls...

 ...the hydrangeas are in bloom...
I love the different colors on opposite sides of the house.

We are loving these lazy days of summer around here!
Reading on the porch, this girl always has a book handy. Now going into second grade, she's just started reading Little Women. I'm so proud of her!
Now off to Home Depot to pick up some paint and trim for various projects around the house.

Lazy Days of Summer

We've been keeping busy the past few days enjoying the slower, lazier days of summer. Sleeping in, eating pancakes for breakfast, doing summer bridgework, reading and doing crafts.

Yesterday we pulled out the art kits and drew some pictures. These were some great little art kits that I picked up at the craft store at Christmas time. Speaking of, I can't believe it's only 6 months until the big day!

The girls have been really good with not watching tv and keeping themselves entertained. They pulled out some games to play like Zingo and Hyper Dash.

Today we started on a new project that I saw on one of my favorite blogs, Whatever. I can't wait to show you the finished product. The girls are really excited about it.

Tonight was our traditional Friday night: PIZZA AND MOVIE NIGHT. Every Friday I make the pizzas and the girls get to pick out a movie from Redbox. Tonight's selection was Gnomeo & Juliet. I love Fridays!

We've got a lot going on this weekend. Tomorrow is MIL's birthday and we're taking her out for breakfast and then the rest of the day will be spent working around the house, cleaning up the yard, finishing up some projects, etc. Sunday we're taking a day trip to the beach. The first this season!  Can't wait to sink my toes in the sand.
